In what has come as a groundbreaking news, it is being reported that the current Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley is likely to succeed Jay Shah as the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) Secretary. Jay Shah, the current secretary of the BCCI, is reportedly poised to assume the role of chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Jay Shah next ICC Chairman?

According to recent reports, Shah enjoys overwhelming support from the ICC board, with 16 out of 15 members backing his candidacy. This level of support suggests that his election to the ICC chairmanship may be a mere formality. The nomination process is expected to conclude by the evening of August 26, setting the stage for a potential changing of the guard in international cricket administration.

Rohan Jaitley to replace Jay Shah?

Should Shah secure the ICC position, he would be required to relinquish his current role as BCCI secretary. This vacancy has sparked speculation about his successor, with Rohan Jaitley’s name surfacing as the likely candidate. Jaitley, who currently serves as the president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), is the son of late politician Arun Jaitley. According to Dainik Bhaskar, Rohan Jaitley is the prime individual to assume the role of BCCI Secretary.

Under his administration, DDCA is currently organizing it’s own Delhi Premier League (DPL), Delhi’s first franchise-run T20 competition. Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana, Anuj Rawat, Ayush Badoni and many other talents are part of the squads.
