With the completion of the T20 World Cup, the 12 teams for the next edition of the marquee event, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka in 2026, have been finalised. Along with Pakistan, New Zealand and Ireland sealed their spots via T20I ranking.
India and Sri Lanka qualified as hosts
The first two spots of the event have been taken by India and Sri Lanka as hosts. The other 7 teams qualified via Super Eight at the 2024 T20 World Cup and the remaining qualified via rankings.
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and the USA qualified via Super-8 qualifiers in the World Cup.
However, Babar Azam’s side managed to secure a place in the next edition with their T20I ranking (7th), alongside New Zealand (6th) and Ireland (11th).
