And no doubt, reactions are coming from top former Pakistan internationals who have also been criticizing the team’s performances. Pakistan has now been eliminated from this edition, and the chips are down.

Recently, former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi shared a few suggestions on the process to deconstruct and reconstruct the team. Another former player adding to the list is Ramiz Raja. As former skipper has also expressed surprise at the team’s performance this edition. Raja recently spoke out on his YouTube channel ‘Ramiz Speaks,’ where he discussed the team’s challenges and how poor the team’s outing was.

Former captain lashes out at few players’ ‘Deadbeat’ performances

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ramiz Raja said that few players in the team are not showing any intent, and management is making a mistake by repeatedly sending the same players. He also added that a few former players who have been traveling with the team are responsible, as they are the ones creating miscommunication with the captain.

“Several players are added to the team who perform like deadbeats, and just to reinforce that decision, you’re sending those players repeatedly because you don’t have any replacements. Leadership is not valued on this team; you are not letting them take any decisions for the team. Retired players are added to the team because they have experience that is required in the World Cup, regardless of their attitude towards the captain” Raza said.

Don’t create scapegoat!

Also, he added, the team has been creating many scapegoats rather than building a lethal team. Raza believes that the decisions they are making lack merit and ‘cricketing sense. ‘Until and unless you make decisions based on merit and cricketing sense, it will be impossible for this team to rise again. Looking for sacrificial lambs to save your place is not the way to run cricket’.
