The Indian captain is getting closer to Babar Azam, who is currently ranked first on the list and is only 59 points behind Babar’s score of 824. Shubman Gill has dropped to third place, while Virat Kohli is in fourth. This means three Indian batters are among the top five in the rankings.
Rohit Sharma’s performance in Sri Lanka series
Rohit played well in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, even though India lost 0-2. The 37-year-old was the highest run-scorer, with 157 runs from three matches, averaging 52.33 and having a strike rate of 141.44. He hit two half-centuries, with his highest score being 64.
